Discover a welcoming service designed to support older adults in the Port Phillip community. Whether you are seeking aged care information, social activities, or local connections, this program offers tailored assistance to help you stay happy, healthy, and socially engaged.
Each session provides an opportunity to meet the Positive Ageing in Port Phillip team, who can guide you through accessing services such as My Aged Care, carer support, and council programs. You’ll also learn about community groups and activities that encourage independence and social connection.
The service operates through regular pop-up sessions at various library branches across Port Phillip. These sessions are held once a month at each location, providing convenient access to information and support.
You can expect friendly, personalized conversations to help identify your needs and connect you with appropriate services. The team also offers details on council-supported initiatives like delivered meals and the free Hop-on Hop-off community bus.
Sessions are hosted at these library branches on a rotating monthly schedule:
- St Kilda: 1st Monday, 10:00 to 12:00
- Albert Park: 2nd Tuesday, 13:30 to 15:30
- Emerald Hill: 3rd Wednesday, 13:00 to 15:00
- Port Melbourne: 4th Thursday, 11:00 to 13:00
All locations are accessible and welcoming, situated within community libraries that offer additional resources like computers and Wi-Fi.
This service is ideal for older adults, carers, and families seeking support or social connection opportunities. No appointment is necessary; just drop in during the scheduled times.
The team can assist with navigating aged care systems and linking you to local programs that promote independence and community engagement.
Please note that the sessions occur monthly and are subject to library opening hours and public holidays.
Attendance is free of charge, with no booking required. Just come along during the scheduled times at your preferred library branch.
