What to Expect
Immerse yourself in nature and make a real difference by volunteering with the Prince Henry Bushcare group. This rewarding program allows you to work alongside Council's Bushcare Officers to restore and protect some of the best remaining bushland in Randwick. You will experience hands-on bush regeneration, tackling weeds and nurturing native plants back to health.
The sessions are family-friendly and provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local environment and community. Whether you are an experienced gardener or new to bushcare, you will find the activities engaging and fulfilling.
Expect to get your hands dirty while enjoying the fresh air and the peaceful surroundings of Little Bay’s natural reserves.
Activity Details
The bushcare sessions occur every month on the 2nd Saturday, continuing until December 12, 2026. Each session runs from 09:00 to 12:00, offering a morning of active outdoor work.
Locations alternate between two sites: opposite 2 Millard Drive and the corner of Jennifer Street & Harvey Street in Little Bay. These sites feature diverse bushland areas that provide a variety of tasks and natural beauty.
Volunteers will focus on removing woody weeds, controlling invasive vines, and hand weeding to restore the native ecosystem. The program has been active since 2014 and has made significant progress in regenerating the bushland.
