Immerse yourself in nature and make a real difference by joining the Prince Henry Bushcare group. This volunteer program offers a hands-on opportunity to help regenerate some of Randwick's best remaining bushland. You'll work alongside dedicated Bushcare Officers and fellow volunteers, tackling invasive weeds and nurturing native plants back to health.
Expect a rewarding morning outdoors where your efforts contribute directly to preserving local biodiversity and enhancing the natural environment for future generations. Whether you're new to bushcare or an experienced volunteer, this group welcomes all who share a passion for nature.
The group meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00. Locations alternate between opposite 2 Millard Drive and the corner of Jennifer Street & Harvey Street in Little Bay. Since 2014, volunteers have made significant progress removing woody weeds and invasive vines, helping restore the bushland to its former glory.
Please contact the Bushcare Officer to confirm the exact meeting spot each month. Bring sturdy shoes, gloves, water, and sun protection for a comfortable and safe experience.
Activities take place at Prince Henry, Little Bay, which features three distinct sites with diverse native flora. These sites are accessible and provide a beautiful setting for outdoor conservation work.
Parking is available nearby, and public transport options serve the area. The locations are suitable for volunteers of varying fitness levels, making it a great family-friendly activity for parents and children who enjoy nature.
Volunteering requires no prior experience but a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The program runs until 12 December 2026, with monthly sessions on the 2nd Saturday.
