Experience the vibrant and joyful atmosphere of the Prospect Spring Fair, a beloved community event filled with fun, food, and entertainment for the whole family. This event promises a day packed with exciting activities, live performances, and unique experiences that celebrate community spirit and creativity.
The fair features amusement rides like the Sizzler, Whacky Shack, High Flyer, and Teacups alongside sideshow games. Enjoy live music from local bands such as The Drops and Morgan Bramble, and community dance performances by local schools and groups. Kids will love the petting zoo, face painting, henna body art, caricatures, and a circus playground with poi and juggling activities.
Highlights include the inaugural Prospect Pie Eating Contest in partnership with Muratti Cakes and Gateaux, the Dachshund Mini Dash sponsored by TOOP+TOOP, and flyball dog racing by local obedience clubs. Artisan and youth market stalls offer handmade crafts and goods, while food vendors provide delicious treats. The 'Come and Try Area' introduces local sports clubs, and creative workshops like cardboard castle building and seed bombing are available.
The event takes place at Broadview Oval / Yarnta Tutu yarta, an open-air grassed space with concrete paths. There are three entrances: McInnes Avenue, Poltawa Terrace, and Myponga Terrace. Accessible parking and toilets are available, with the best wheelchair and pram access via McInnes Avenue. Passenger loading zones surround the venue for easy drop-off and pick-up.
Entry is free with a capacity limit of 3,000 people. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is licenced; BYO alcohol is not permitted. Dogs must be leashed and owners responsible for cleaning up. The event is smoke and vape free. Weather may cause cancellation; updates will be posted on City of Prospect’s Facebook page.
No tickets are required to attend the fair. All activities and stalls are free to access. Some contests and races may require prior registration. Parking restrictions and temporary speed limits will be in place around the venue on the event day to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
