What to Expect
Experience a unique school holiday workshop where children connect with Country through stories, creativity, and cultural learning. This immersive session shares Aboriginal signs, symbols, and art protocols, enriching your child's understanding of Indigenous heritage.
Participants will enjoy tasting delicious quandong jam or a refreshing quandong syrup drink, learning about the health benefits and traditional uses of this remarkable native fruit. Children will then create their own unique bracelet or keyring using real quandong seeds, crafting a special keepsake to take home.
This event offers a beautiful way to slow down, connect, create, and learn alongside the Aboriginal community, celebrating NAIDOC Week in a meaningful and engaging way.
Activity Details
The workshop is designed for children aged 5 and above. Children aged 5-7 years must be accompanied by an adult, while those 8 years and older can attend independently. Please book one ticket per participating child to ensure a spot.
The session runs for 1.5 hours, providing ample time for storytelling, tasting, and crafting activities. It is part of the NAIDOC Deadly in the Hills 2026 program, highlighting cultural celebration and education.
Please note that spots are limited and tend to book out quickly. If you are unable to attend, kindly call the library to free up your spot for others on the waitlist.

The workshop will be held at Stirling Library, located at 63 Mount Barker Rd, Stirling SA 5152. The venue is accessible and welcoming, situated within the Adelaide Hills Council region.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend. The library provides a safe and friendly environment for children and adults alike.
Please check fire danger ratings before attending, as events may be cancelled on days of extreme fire risk.
Important Information
On Catastrophic Fire Danger Days for the Mt Lofty Ranges, all Adelaide Hills Council Library branches will be closed and events cancelled without notice. An Extreme 2 Fire Danger Rating also results in cancellations at specific branches.
Any payments made for cancelled events will be reimbursed or the event rescheduled. Stay informed by checking current fire danger ratings online.

Booking and Prices
Tickets cost $5 per child and must be booked online. Only one ticket per participating child is required.
Early booking is recommended due to limited availability and high demand during school holidays. For cancellations, please contact the library promptly to allow others to attend.
