This program offers a hands-on opportunity to help restore and preserve one of Randwick's most significant bushland reserves. It’s perfect for families looking to engage their children in meaningful outdoor activities that connect them with the environment.
Expect to work alongside Council's Bushcare Officers in a friendly and supportive environment. Activities include primary weed removal, hand weeding among native plants, and revegetation of degraded areas. This is a wonderful chance to learn about local flora and fauna while contributing to the community.
The sessions are held on the second Sunday of each month from 9:00 to 12:00, providing a great way to spend a morning outdoors with like-minded people who care about sustainability and conservation.
Volunteers will be involved in practical bush regeneration tasks such as removing invasive weeds and planting native species to improve the health of the park. No prior experience is necessary as Bushcare Officers provide guidance and training.
The program runs monthly until December 13, 2026, making it easy to fit into busy family schedules. It’s suitable for parents and children who enjoy outdoor activities and want to contribute positively to their local environment.
Please wear sturdy footwear, sun protection, and bring a water bottle. Tools and gloves are typically provided by the council, but you can confirm when booking.
