What to Expect
Experience a heartfelt Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony led by Uncle Josh West, a proud Bunurong Traditional Owner. This is followed by an interactive Cultural Awareness Training session delivered by Jillian West, who is also a Bunurong and Palawa Traditional Owner. The workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of the historical and ongoing challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Participants will gain valuable insights into past policies and practices and their lasting impacts on Indigenous cultures, communities, and traditions. Light refreshments will be provided, and you are welcome to bring a small snack if you have specific allergies or dietary needs.
This event is suitable for anyone aged 16 years and over who wishes to engage respectfully and thoughtfully with Indigenous culture.
