What to Expect
Experience a meaningful National Reconciliation Week with the City of Cockburn’s diverse program designed to bring the community together. This year’s theme, "All In," encourages everyone to actively participate in reconciliation through learning, reflection, and connection. Events include cultural ceremonies, storytelling, workshops, and guided nature walks.

Activity Details
The week features multiple events at various locations:
- Tuesday 26 May, 10:00-13:30: "Ngany Moorditj (I am Strong) Sorry Day" at Coolbellup Library with film viewings, a healing weaving workshop, and morning tea.
- Wednesday 27 May, 11:00: Annual flag-raising ceremony at City of Cockburn Administration with Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, and didgeridoo performance.
- Saturday 30 May, 09:30-10:30: Storytime at Success Library including Welcome to Country, Aboriginal dance, storytelling for ages 3-7, and crafts.
- Tuesday 2 June, 12:00-14:00: "My Time" Aboriginal Parent Support Group at Coolbellup Hub offering food, friendship, and creche.
- Tuesday 2 June, 10:30-13:30: Guided cultural walk at Bibra Lake with Nyungar Cultural Consultant Cyril Yarran.
Location and Access
Events are held at accessible venues across the City of Cockburn including Coolbellup Library (90 Cordelia Ave), Success Library (25 Wentworth Parade), City Administration, Coolbellup Hub, and Bibra Lake Reserve. Facilities include accessible toilets, parking, and lifts, ensuring comfort for all attendees.
Public transport options and free parking are available at most locations. The City provides accessibility features such as ACROD parking and accessible spaces to accommodate visitors with mobility needs.

All events are free of charge. Registration is required for select activities and can be completed via the City of Cockburn’s event pages or by contacting the event organizers. No bookings are needed for the flag-raising ceremony or the Aboriginal Parent Support Group.
