What to Expect
Celebrate National Reconciliation Week with a creative and meaningful scratch art activity designed for families and children. Activity Details
The scratch art sessions run daily from Wednesday 27 May to Sunday 31 May 2026, and again on Wednesday 3 June 2026, each day from 10:00 to 16:00. The Bay Discovery Centre will be closed on 1 and 2 June, so no activities will be held on those dates.
Children will use traditional symbols to inspire their artwork, guided by storytelling that enriches their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. This event is free of charge and suitable for families with school-aged children.
Location and Access
The event takes place at the Bay Discovery Centre, located at 1 Moseley Square, Glenelg 5045, South Australia. The activity is held on Level 1 within the Tiati Wangkanthi Kumangka exhibition, providing a culturally rich environment.
The centre is easily accessible by public transport and has facilities suitable for families. Parking and amenities are available nearby, making it convenient for parents attending with children.
Important Information
Please note the Bay Discovery Centre will be closed on 1 and 2 June 2026, so the scratch art sessions will not be available on these days. The event is free to attend, but spaces may be limited, so arriving early is recommended.
