Every year, pet owners in Darebin are required to renew their pet registrations by April 10. This important process helps ensure your pet remains legally registered and cared for within the community.
Renewal notices are typically sent out via email or post around March, giving you plenty of time to complete the process. Renewing is quick and easy, taking less than two minutes online with your Animal Reference Number from the renewal notice. You can also renew by phone, mail, or in person at a Customer Service Centre.
- Renewal deadline: April 10 annually
- Online renewal available for dogs and cats
- Alternative renewal options include mail, phone, or in-person
- Appeals can be lodged if you have received a fine under certain circumstances
Renewals can be completed online from the comfort of your home or by visiting any Darebin Customer Service Centre. For postal renewals, send your cheque or money order to PO Box 91, Preston VIC 3072. Phone renewals are available by calling 1300 954 297.
Please note that registration fees are non-refundable for pets that move away, are lost, missing, or deceased. If you do not receive your renewal notice, contact Customer Service promptly. Appeals against fines are possible for valid reasons such as relocation or pet passing.
Renewal fees vary depending on your pet type and registration category. Payment methods include online, mail, phone, or in person. No appointment is necessary for in-person renewals.
