Dive into a vibrant and hands-on workshop designed especially for teens aged 12 to 17. This event invites young creatives to explore bold poetic forms such as spine poetry, found poetry, and paint chip poetry, transforming words into unique artistic expressions. The workshop then elevates these creations by blending poetry with music, layering rhythm, sound, and storytelling to bring words to life.
Participants will collaborate, experiment, and build confidence in their writing voice through poetry, a timeless form of storytelling. Guided by the talented musical facilitator Tito Espinosa, teens will use an in-house collection of instruments to merge their writing with various musical styles, creating powerful and emotive original pieces.
This workshop promises a dynamic experience that nurtures creativity, self-expression, and artistic confidence in a supportive environment.
The workshop is led by Tito Espinosa, a seasoned songwriter, guitarist, and producer with a rich background in music and arts from New York City. Tito brings his passion and expertise to guide participants through the creative process, encouraging experimentation and collaboration.
All materials and equipment are provided, ensuring participants can fully engage without needing to bring anything. The session is free of charge, making it accessible to all interested teens.
Please note, for participants under 16, parent or guardian contact details are required at booking. Arriving late may result in losing your spot to those on the standby list, so punctuality is important.
The workshop will be held at Hurstville Library, located at the corner of Dora Street and Queens Road, Hurstville. This accessible venue is well-known in the community and easy to reach by public transport or car.
