What to Expect
During this two-day event, residents can drop off a variety of recyclable materials including tyres, e-waste, cardboard, and expanded polystyrene. The event is free for City of Wanneroo residents and provides a convenient way to recycle items that are often difficult to dispose of properly. Expect a friendly atmosphere with helpful staff guiding you through the drop-off process.
Activity Details
- Tyres: Limit of 4 per household, including 4x4, motorcycle, and passenger vehicle tyres only.
- E-waste: Includes computers, laptops, mobile phones, printers, monitors, and circuit boards.
- Cardboard: Must be clean and preferably flattened.
- Polystyrene (EPS): Bulk white packaging accepted, excluding meat trays and beads.
Proof of residence is required for tyre drop-off (driver’s licence or rates notice).
Location and Access
The event is held at Ashby Operations Centre (north entrance), 1204 Wanneroo Road, Ashby. Ample parking is available, and the site is easily accessible by car. Clear signage will direct you to the drop-off points for each material type, making the process smooth and efficient for busy families.
Important Information
Please note that some items are not accepted, including CRTs, broken screens, whitegoods, contaminated or hazardous materials, furniture, and more than 4 tyres per household. For these items, alternative recycling centres such as Tamala Park or Balcatta Recycling Centre are recommended (fees may apply). For any questions, residents can call (08) 9405 5000.
