Russian Rhyme Time | Poteshka offers a delightful monthly gathering where young children aged 0-5 can enjoy the magic of Russian rhymes, songs, stories, and music. This engaging program is designed to introduce little ones to the Russian language in a fun and interactive way, fostering early language development and cultural appreciation.
Each session invites parents and carers to join their children in a warm, welcoming environment that encourages participation and joyful learning. The program runs every month except on public holidays, ensuring a consistent opportunity for families to connect and explore Russian culture together.
This event is perfect for families looking to introduce their children to a new language or for those who want to maintain their cultural heritage through playful and educational activities.
The program takes place on the first Friday of each month from 11:30 to 12:00, starting on 2026-07-03 and continuing through to 2026-12-04, with some exceptions due to public holidays. Each session lasts 30 minutes, providing a focused and manageable experience for young children.
Attendance is free, but bookings are essential for each session to secure a place. Parents must book for every session they wish to attend, and spaces are limited to ensure a quality experience for all participants.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer, and all attendees need to be booked in advance. Library membership is required but free and can be easily obtained online or at any Randwick City Library branch.
Sessions are held at the Margaret Martin Library, located on Level 1 of the Royal Randwick Shopping Centre, Belmore Road, Randwick. This central location is easily accessible by public transport and offers convenient parking options.
Randwick City Library is committed to accessibility and inclusivity. If you have any access requirements, the library encourages you to reach out ahead of time so they can provide appropriate support.
The venue is family-friendly, but due to space limitations, parents are encouraged to leave prams at home if possible to ensure comfort for all attendees.
Bookings must be made through Eventbrite, and it is important to cancel tickets if you cannot attend to allow others the opportunity to participate. Late arrivals cannot be admitted to maintain the smooth running of the program.
All children must be supervised by a parent or carer throughout the session. The library has implemented Covid-19 safety measures, and attendees agree to comply with these as part of the booking terms and conditions.
Photography or video recordings may occur during the sessions for promotional purposes. If you do not wish for images of you or your child to be used, please notify staff before the event.
The program is free to attend, but prior booking is essential for each session. You can book via the Eventbrite link provided by Randwick City Library. If your preferred session is fully booked, it will not appear in the booking system.
