What to Expect
Step into the world of animal care with your children aged 6-12 at this interactive session hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Community Animal Shelter. Kids will have the unique opportunity to read to friendly shelter cats, helping to socialise them while practising their reading skills in a calm and supportive environment.
Participants will also enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter, discovering how the animals are cared for and learning about the importance of responsible pet ownership. This is a wonderful chance for children to connect with animals and understand the shelter’s vital role in the community.
To top it off, children will get creative by making their own DIY cat toy. These toys will either be donated to shelter cats or taken home to enrich their own pets’ lives.
