Immerse yourself in a captivating live performance installation by artist Jumaadi and sound designer Michael Toisuta. This innovative work blends installation and performance, inspired by the Javanese tradition of boyongan, where communities relocate carrying their belongings.
Throughout the day, the artists dynamically respond to the space, objects, and each other, creating an ever-evolving experience. Return at different times to discover new images, sounds, and relationships within the performance.
This event offers a rare opportunity to witness art that resists easy categorisation, combining images, objects, bodies, shadows, and sound in a mesmerizing act of creation.
The performance runs multiple sessions from 19 to 21 November 2026, each lasting approximately 40 minutes. Visitors can also enjoy the free installation outside of ticketed performance times.
The work explores themes of migration, displacement, and the environment, developed collaboratively between Indonesia and Australia.
