What to Expect
Ready to wield the magic of storytelling? This engaging workshop invites teenagers aged 12 to 17 to dive into the world of fantasy writing. With guidance from award-winning writer Aylish Dowsett, participants will explore adventure, magic, monsters, and more.
Expect to learn how to create your own fantasy creatures and characters, explore exciting fantasy worlds, and experiment with magical powers and fantastical ideas. This is a perfect chance for young writers to craft their own unique fantasy stories and adventures.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for two hours, from 14:00 to 16:00 on Thursday, 1 October 2026. It is designed specifically for teenagers, providing a focused and supportive environment to nurture creativity.
Participants should bring a pen or pencil and paper to write on. Spaces are limited, so booking in advance is essential to secure a spot.

The event takes place at Hurstville Library, located at the corner of Queens Road and Dora Street, Hurstville. The library is accessible and committed to inclusive services.

Important Information
Parents or guardians must remain in the library for participants aged 12 and under. For safety, one adult can supervise up to four children (1:4 ratio). For participants under 16, parent or guardian contact details must be provided when booking.
Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in losing your place to the standby queue. If unable to attend, please cancel at least three hours before the event to avoid future booking restrictions.
