Experience a rewarding day dedicated to preserving the beauty of our oceans and coastal wildlife. This event invites families and ocean lovers of all ages to actively participate in cleaning up marine debris both on land and underwater.
Volunteer either as a land helper picking up litter along the shore or as a dive volunteer removing underwater rubbish if you have SCUBA certification. Enjoy a lively atmosphere with free barbecue, live music, eco-activities, and prizes that make this a fun and meaningful outing for everyone.
Land volunteers will be provided with debris bags, tongs, and gloves, although you may bring your own. Dive volunteers must bring their own dive gear and will receive free tank refills courtesy of local sponsors. Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
The event takes place at Doug Jennings Park, Seaworld Drive, Main Beach, with free onsite parking available. Public transport and active travel options are encouraged to reduce environmental impact. Metered parking can be managed easily via the EasyPark app.
Please ensure dive equipment is serviced and safe for use. Volunteers under 18 require adult supervision throughout the event. The project is supported by the Queensland Government’s Community Sustainability Action grant program, emphasizing community involvement in environmental care.
