Sing Along in Portuguese - História Cantada

A monthly interactive program of songs, rhymes, and story reading in Brazilian Portuguese for children aged 0-5 and their parents or carers.

Join us for a delightful monthly gathering where young children and their parents or carers can immerse themselves in the joyful sounds and stories of Brazilian Portuguese. This program is designed to foster early language skills and cultural appreciation through music and storytelling.

Enjoy engaging songs, lively rhymes, and captivating story reading sessions tailored for children aged 0-5. Activity Details

This event takes place every month on the third Tuesday, starting from May 20, 2025, and continuing through December 16, 2025. Sessions run from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. The program is free, but bookings are essential and must be made online for each session you wish to attend. Please note that spaces are limited and sessions may fill quickly.

Location and Access

The sessions are held at the Lionel Bowen Library located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. The venue is accessible and welcoming, providing a comfortable space for families to enjoy the activities. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow time for check-in and to settle in before the session begins.

Important Information

This program is specifically for children aged 0-5 years and their parents or carers, with all children requiring parental supervision. Library membership is required to attend but is free and can be obtained online or at any branch. Please cancel your booking if you are unable to attend to allow others the opportunity to participate. Due to space limitations, leaving prams at home is encouraged. Late arrivals cannot be admitted to ensure the session runs smoothly. Covid-19 safety measures are in place and must be followed.

Attendance is free, but bookings are mandatory and must be completed through Eventbrite. Each session requires a separate booking.
