The classes cover a comprehensive range of topics including managing labour and birth, induction, possible complications, and emergency procedures. For those planning a caesarean birth, a dedicated class addresses what to expect and how to prepare. You will also learn about newborn characteristics, breastfeeding, safe sleeping, and emotional wellbeing.
- Labour, birth, and early parenting weekend class: Saturday 08:15 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:30 to 15:00
- Caesarean birth and early parenting class: Saturday 08:15 to 16:00
- Recommended booking 4-6 weeks before your due date
- Includes attendance for partner or support person
Classes are held at 22-36 Scott Street, Toowoomba City, Queensland 4350, within St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba. The venue is easily accessible and provides a comfortable environment for learning and discussion.
Please book only one ticket as it covers both you and your partner/support person. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, contact the Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit reception to switch classes. Check with your health insurer regarding coverage for the class cost.
