Dive into the exciting world of STEAM where curious young minds aged 5-12 can explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through hands-on activities. Each month brings a new theme designed to spark creativity and learning in a fun, supportive environment.
This July, become a space explorer and discover the stories hidden in the night sky. Learn to identify famous constellations and use the Stellarium website to view live images of the stars. It’s a perfect blend of science and art that will captivate your child's imagination.
All materials are provided, and children will have the opportunity to design, build, and solve problems alongside friends, fostering teamwork and critical thinking.
STEAM Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 16:00 to 17:00 at Albert Park Library. The program is designed for children who have started primary school (Foundation/Prep) and runs during school terms, excluding school and public holidays.
Each session focuses on a different STEAM topic, encouraging children to develop new skills and explore exciting concepts in a hands-on way. Registration is required each month to secure a spot.
The July session highlights astronomy and space exploration, featuring activities related to constellations and the Messier 83 spiral galaxy.
The club is held at Albert Park Library, a welcoming and accessible venue located in the City of Port Phillip. The sessions are wheelchair accessible, and the library staff are happy to assist with any additional access needs to ensure all children can participate fully.
Parents can easily reach the library by public transport or car, with parking options nearby. The library offers a friendly atmosphere perfect for learning and discovery.
Please note that STEAM Club does not run during school holidays or on public holidays. Children must be aged 5-12 and have commenced primary school to join.
All materials are supplied, so there is no need to bring anything except enthusiasm and curiosity.
Advance registration is essential each month to manage group sizes and materials.
Attendance is free of charge, but places are limited. Parents are encouraged to register their children in advance via the provided link to ensure participation.
For registration and further details, contact the library by phone or email.
This is a wonderful opportunity to engage your child in STEAM learning in a fun, interactive setting that nurtures creativity and critical thinking.
