Immerse yourself in a unique still-life painting experience led by Wadawurrung artist Dr Deanne Gilson. This one-day course invites you to explore native flowers and textiles through the lens of Indigenous art and culture. The day begins with a guided tour of the Margaret Preston exhibition, led by curator Beckett Rozentals, providing rich context and inspiration. Following the tour, Dr Gilson will introduce her artistic practice and guide you step-by-step through painting techniques using ochre and acrylic paints.

The workshop runs from 12:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, Fed Square. All painting materials are provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and creativity.
