Step into a world where art and stories come alive for your little ones. Storytime at the Art Gallery of NSW offers a delightful experience for children aged 3 to 5 years and their parents or carers. Younger siblings are warmly welcomed, making it a perfect outing for the whole family.
Each session is designed to spark imagination and introduce children to the magic of art through engaging books and storytelling. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, encouraging children to explore their creativity and love for stories.
This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture early literacy and artistic appreciation in a beautiful cultural setting.
Storytime sessions are held every Friday at 11:00 AM and last approximately 30 minutes. The event is free of charge and no bookings are required, making it easy to fit into your weekly routine.
The sessions take place in the Naala Nura building, located on the lower level 3 within the Library, archive, and children’s art library of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
This event is specifically tailored for children under 5, providing age-appropriate stories and activities that engage young minds and encourage participation.
The Art Gallery of New South Wales is situated on Art Gallery Road, The Domain, Sydney NSW 2000, on Gadigal Country. The venue is accessible and family-friendly, with facilities designed to accommodate young children and their carers.
The Naala Nura building houses the children’s art library, providing a cozy and inspiring environment for storytime. Public transport options and parking are available nearby, making it convenient for families to visit.
The Gallery is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 10:00 PM on Wednesdays. Entry to the Gallery and storytime sessions is free.
This event is suitable for children aged 3 to 5 years, but younger siblings are also welcome to join in the fun. Parents and carers are encouraged to participate and enjoy the experience alongside their children.
No bookings are required, so you can simply drop in and enjoy the session. However, arriving a little early is recommended to secure a comfortable spot.
Support for the acquisition of new artworks is welcomed, helping to enrich the Gallery’s collection and future programs.
