Experience gentle, therapeutic stretch and mobility exercises designed to help you move more freely and release tension in your body. These classes are suitable for all fitness levels and can be done seated, making them accessible for everyone.
Led by Lea Singer, a certified Yoga instructor specializing in positive aging, the sessions focus on deep stretching and improving range of motion. Whether you want to enhance your flexibility or simply enjoy a relaxing movement routine, these classes offer a supportive environment.
The classes are wheelchair accessible and welcoming to people with diverse needs, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.
Classes run fortnightly on Tuesdays from 11:00 to 12:00 at the St Kilda Library Community Room. Each session lasts one hour and includes a variety of exercises tailored to promote ease of movement and reduce bodily tension.
Lea Singer brings a wealth of experience from teaching in gyms, aged care, disability facilities, and wellness retreats. She conducts the classes in both English and Russian, making them inclusive for a wider community.
Participants are encouraged to book their spots in advance as sessions fill up week by week. The classes are free of charge, making them an accessible wellness option for families and individuals alike.
The classes take place at the St Kilda Library Community Room, a welcoming and accessible venue located within the Port Phillip Library Service. The space is wheelchair accessible, and the library offers additional support for any special accessibility needs upon request.
The library is a community hub with easy access to public transport and parking nearby, making it convenient for parents and caregivers to attend with their children or on their own.
For those requiring assistance or accommodations, the library staff are ready to help ensure a comfortable experience for all participants.
These sessions are free and open to the public, but booking is essential to secure your place. Future bookings open weekly, so it’s best to reserve early.
Participants can perform the exercises seated if needed, making the class suitable for those with limited mobility or balance concerns.
If you have any additional accessibility requirements or questions, please contact the library directly to discuss how they can support your participation.
Booking is required and can be done via the Port Phillip Library website or by phone. The classes are offered at no cost, providing a valuable wellness resource for the community.
