Get ready for a creative and eco-friendly experience where children transform colourful fabric scraps into their very own sustainable library bags. This workshop encourages young minds to explore their artistic side while learning about sustainability by repurposing leftover textiles. Kids will mix colours, shapes, and patterns to design bold, layered artworks that are both practical and personal.
This session is perfect for children aged 5 to 12 years and requires no prior sewing experience, making it accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels. It’s a wonderful opportunity to inspire creativity and environmental awareness in a supportive and fun environment.
During this 50-minute workshop, participants will be guided through the process of designing and assembling their library bags using reclaimed fabrics. The session is presented by A Fitting Connection, who specialize in creative sustainable projects.
Library membership is required to register for this event, and attendees are encouraged to explore additional library resources on repurposing and sustainability. This program is part of the school holiday activities designed to engage children in meaningful and educational crafts.
The workshop will be held at the Keysborough Community Hub, located at 10 Villiers Road, Keysborough. This accessible venue is welcoming and family-friendly, providing a comfortable space for children to express their creativity.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend. For those needing additional assistance to participate, the library staff are ready to help upon request.
Please note that registration is required to attend this free event, and spaces may be limited. Library membership must be active to book a place in the workshop.
Children should come prepared to have fun and get a little messy, but no sewing skills are needed. All materials will be provided, and parents are welcome to stay and support their children during the activity.
