Join a gentle Tai Chi and Qigong course designed for beginners and busy parents looking for low-impact exercise, better balance, and a calmer mind. Taught by Qigong Master Simon Blow, sessions run in person at Lionel Bowen Library and online via Zoom for convenience and accessibility.
What to Expect
This course focuses on slow, mindful movements that are easy to follow even if you have never tried Tai Chi before. Expect a relaxed pace that emphasises posture, breath and simple sequences suitable for adults of all fitness levels.
You will learn foundational Qigong sets such as Ba Duan Jin and Taiji Qigong Shibashi that help improve flexibility, circulation and mental clarity. The class blends physical movement with gentle meditation to support stress relief and well being.
Benefits include improved balance, increased mobility and a calmer mind, all delivered in a friendly community environment at Lionel Bowen Library or from the comfort of home via Zoom. These sessions are ideal for parents who want accessible exercise and mindfulness practice.
Activity Details
Classes run weekly on Mondays from 2 February to 23 March 2026, with sessions from 10:00 to 11:00. Each weekly lesson builds on the previous one, and registration covers the full term so you can attend all sessions once registered.
In person attendees will receive the Zoom link two hours before each session so you can join online if needed. There is also a Tai Chi Intermediate course running on the same dates from 11:30 to 12:30 for continuing students.
