Get ready for an exciting lineup of activities designed especially for teens aged 12 to 18. This free program offers a mix of creative, active, and social events that will keep your teenager engaged and entertained throughout the school holidays. From baking and trivia to songwriting and theatre games, there’s something for every interest.
Each session is thoughtfully planned to encourage creativity, social interaction, and physical activity, making it a perfect way for teens to spend their school break. The program also provides a safe and welcoming environment where young people can meet new friends and try new things.
Whether your teen loves arts and crafts, sports, or music, this program has it covered with a variety of activities held at accessible locations around Merri-bek.
The program runs from Monday 21 September 2026 to Friday 2 October 2026, featuring two weeks of diverse activities:
- Week 1: Baking & Trivia, Beginner Songwriting, Sip & Paint: Milkshakes & Masterpieces, Badminton Baddies
- Week 2: Screen Printing T-Shirts, DIY Patches & Clothes Customisation, Theatre Games, Kickball & Dodgeball, Rainbow Pasta Making
Sessions generally run from 1pm to 4pm or 3pm to 5pm depending on the day and activity. All activities are free and suitable for teens aged 12 to 18 years.
Events take place at multiple venues across Merri-bek including Oxygen in Coburg, Glenroy Hub, and Fawkner Community Sports Hall. These locations are easily accessible by public transport and have facilities suitable for young people.
Parents can feel confident that their teens will be in safe, supervised spaces designed to foster creativity and active participation. The venues provide a welcoming atmosphere and are equipped to support the varied activities planned.
Please note that Friday 25 September is a public holiday, so no activities are scheduled on this day. Participants should bring any necessary personal items such as water bottles and comfortable clothing suitable for the activities.
Booking is essential as places are limited. The program is designed to be inclusive and supportive, encouraging teens to try new things and build confidence.
All sessions are free of charge. To secure a spot, parents or guardians must book via the Merri-bek Youth Eventbrite page. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
