Step into the exciting world of film-making with indelarts' Term 1 2026 Toowoomba Film Class. This engaging workshop series invites participants aged 16 and over to explore storytelling, cinematography, and acting in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, this class offers a unique opportunity to create your own short film alongside fellow aspiring filmmakers.
You will be guided by acclaimed actor, writer, and director Shideh Faramand through the essential steps of film creation from concept to completion. The class encourages collaboration and creativity, welcoming participants who identify as disabled or neurodivergent, as well as their support workers and carers. By the end of the term, you will have produced a short film that showcases your vision and skills.
This series runs weekly on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 14:30, starting on 2026-02-10 and concluding on 2026-03-31. No prior experience is necessary, making it accessible for all skill levels. The class is designed for individuals aged 16 and above, with no upper age limit. Support workers and carers are encouraged to join to foster an inclusive learning environment.
The classes take place at the Empire Theatre, located at 54-56 Neil Street, Toowoomba City, QLD 4350. The venue is centrally located and accessible by public transport and car, with parking options nearby. The historic theatre offers a creative and inspiring setting for this hands-on workshop series.
Participants must book a trial class through the enrolment link provided on the event page. Following the trial, if you choose to continue, an invoice will be issued for the remainder of the term. The workshop is inclusive and supportive, welcoming carers and support workers to attend alongside participants.
