What to Expect

Messy Sensory Play for Babies is a delightful program that invites infants and their parents to explore a variety of themed sensory activities. Each week, your baby will experience hands-on play that encourages curiosity and supports early language and motor skills.

The sessions cover exciting themes like Around the World, ABC favourites, Construction week, Book week, Bluey week, Father’s Day week, Arctic animals, and We’re going on a bear hunt. These themes are designed to captivate your child’s imagination and foster a love of learning.

Led by experienced educators from Messy Makers, the program focuses on stimulating your child's senses and promoting discovery through messy, playful exploration.

Activity Details

This 8-week program runs every Thursday from 1:00pm to 1:45pm, starting on 2025-07-31 and concluding on 2025-09-18. Each session is priced at $15, with an 8-week package available for $80, offering a $40 saving.

The program is tailored for infants aged 0 to 2 years old, and parents or guardians are encouraged to actively participate alongside their children to enhance the learning experience.

Sensory play benefits include developing fine and gross motor skills, enhancing cognitive and language development, promoting creativity, and building social confidence.

Location and Access

The sessions take place at Dharug Country, Maker Space, Level 3, PHIVE, located at 5 Parramatta Square, Parramatta NSW 2150. PHIVE is a fully accessible and inclusive space, ensuring comfort and ease of access for all families.

Parent rooms are available on-site for convenience, and the venue acknowledges the traditional custodians, the Burramattagal of the Dharug nation.

Important Information

Parents and guardians must remain with their children throughout the sessions to support their engagement and safety.

It is recommended to bring a change of clothes as the activities can get messy. If you cannot attend a session, please cancel your registration to allow others to participate.

A limited number of casual sessions are available, with registrations opening two weeks prior to each session. Refunds are not offered due to the unpredictable nature of babies.

The program respects and honors the Dharug ancestors and Elders, welcoming all First Nations people to join and visit PHIVE.
