What to Expect
Unlock your child's creativity with The Creative Lab, an engaging after school art class designed for children aged 5 to 11. This program encourages young artists to explore drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media in a fun and supportive environment. Each week offers a new artistic adventure, helping kids build skills and confidence while making new friends.
The classes are led by experienced tutor Elizabeth Wellard, who adapts the program to suit the interests and abilities of the children attending. Parents or guardians are required to stay on site during the sessions, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all.

Activity Details
The Creative Lab runs for 8 weeks on Thursdays from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, starting 12 February and concluding 2 April 2026. The weekly program includes:
- Week 1: Exploration and connection
- Week 2: Expressive drawing
- Week 3: Painting and sensory discovery
- Week 4: Collage, texture, and composition
- Week 5: Mixed media and texture
- Week 6: Storytelling through art
- Week 7: Imaginative abstract construction
- Week 8: Large scale art and creative confidence
These sessions provide a flexible framework that encourages experimentation with different mediums and techniques.
Location and Access
Classes are held at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery, located at 634 The Horsley Drive, Smithfield NSW 2164. Entry is via Oxford Street. The museum is accessible and family-friendly, providing a welcoming space for children to learn and create.
The venue is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm, with closures on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays. Parking and public transport options are available nearby.

Booking and Prices
The full 8-week term costs $153.78. Registration is required and can be completed via Eventbrite. Booking early is recommended as spaces may be limited.
