Spark your child's curiosity with hands-on science experiments designed especially for young scientists aged 6 to 8. Each week explores a different fascinating theme, from plants to magnets, visual illusions, and even the science behind sherbet. This program encourages exploration and discovery in a fun, supportive environment.
The program runs for four consecutive Mondays in March 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00. Sessions include:
- Week 1: All About Plants – leaf rubbings, pressing flowers, and growth experiments.
- Week 2: Magic Magnets – discovering magnetism and creating a magnetic fishing game.
- Week 3: Tricks of the Eye – exploring visual illusions and making a thaumatrope.
- Week 4: Science of Sherbet – acid-base reactions and making sherbet to take home.
Children must be aged 6 to 8 years and those under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
The sessions take place at Hornsby Library, located at 28-44 George Street, Hornsby, NSW 2077. The library is easily accessible and family-friendly, providing a welcoming space for children and parents alike. Parking and public transport options are available nearby.
