Dive into the exciting world of science with your young explorer in this engaging four-week program designed specifically for children aged 6 to 8 years. Each session introduces a new scientific theme through hands-on experiments that spark curiosity and learning.
Children will have the chance to explore plants, magnets, optical illusions, and even the chemistry behind sherbet, making science both fun and accessible. This program encourages creativity and discovery, perfect for budding scientists eager to understand the world around them.

The program consists of four weekly sessions, each lasting one hour from 16:00 to 17:00 on Mondays:
- Session 1 (4 May): All About Plants – leaf rubbings, flower pressing, and growth experiments.
- Session 2 (11 May): Magic Magnets – exploring magnetism and creating a magnetic fishing game.
- Session 3 (18 May): Tricks of the Eye – visual illusions and making a thaumatrope.
- Session 4 (25 May): Science of Sherbet – acid-base reactions and making sherbet.
Strictly for children aged 6 to 8 years, with children under 10 required to be accompanied by an adult. Bookings are essential to secure a spot.
All sessions take place at Hornsby Library, located at 28-44 George Street, Hornsby, NSW 2077. The library is easily accessible by public transport and offers a welcoming space for families.
