Discover a nurturing space where both you and your child can thrive together. The Village Project offers a unique blend of child-centred care and parent-focused support, creating a balanced environment for the whole family. Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent, working parent, or remote professional, this initiative fosters community connection and meaningful engagement.
Children will be engaged by a trained educator through mindful, creative play designed to stimulate their imagination and development. Meanwhile, parents can enjoy time to work, rest, or connect with others navigating similar parenting journeys.
This is more than just a playgroup; it’s a supportive village, designed to help families grow and connect in a welcoming environment.
The Village Project welcomes children aged 1 and above, with babes in arms also warmly invited to join as long as they stay with their parents. Please bring a morning snack or piece of fruit for your child to enjoy during the session.
Activities are thoughtfully planned to encourage creativity and mindfulness. Parents are reminded to remain on the premises and are responsible for their child’s toileting needs. Toys should be left at home unless they are a comfort item for your child.
Coffee and tea are provided, and the environment includes co-working areas and quiet corners for parents to relax or be productive.
The sessions take place at The Summit Community Centre, located at 4 Crescent Dr, Norton Summit SA 5136. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. There are two carparks available: an upper carpark and a smaller lower carpark with one disabled parking space.
Additional parking can be found along Crescent Drive near Norton Summit Primary School and behind Norton Summit CFS, though care should be taken when crossing roads. The Scenic Hotel also offers limited parking.
The community centre is fully accessible, featuring a disabled car park, access ramp, disabled toilets, baby change facilities, and a wide double door entrance.
The Summit Community Centre operates Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and is closed on Fridays and public holidays. In the event of Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Ratings for the Mt Lofty Ranges, all classes and programs will be cancelled without notice, with refunds or rescheduling offered.
The centre is inclusive and welcoming to all, including LGBTQI+ individuals and families, and supports breastfeeding.
Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, kettle, fridge, and commercial dishwasher, allowing parents to warm bottles or meals and enjoy hot drinks.
Each session costs $20, and tickets can be booked online. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for 14 May 2026 from 09:30 to 12:30, 28 May 2026 from 09:30 to 12:30, 01 June 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00, 11 June 2026 from 09:30 to 12:30, and 25 June 2026 from 09:30 to 12:30.
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended to secure your spot in this supportive community gathering.
