Kevin Smith from The Worm Shed will guide you through all aspects of worm farming, explaining the environmental benefits and how it contributes to sustainable waste reduction. Following the presentation, enjoy a hands-on demonstration on setting up and maintaining a worm farm, perfect for anyone interested in eco-friendly gardening.
This workshop is tailored for adults and teens aged 14 and above, making it a great opportunity for families to learn together. Photographs and videos may be taken during the event, so please book one ticket per attendee. Residents and ratepayers of the City of Swan can access exclusive subsidies on worm farm setups and worms available for purchase on the day.
Held at the Beechboro Community Hub located at 332 Benara Road, Beechboro, the venue is easily accessible and welcoming. The session runs from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, providing a relaxed morning learning experience in a community setting.
Please note the workshop is suitable for adults and young people over 14 years old. To claim the worm farm subsidy, pre-order your worm farm when you RSVP, attend the workshop with proof of address or a rates notice, pay in cash, and collect your worm farm to take home. This is a fantastic chance to start your own sustainable worm farm with expert guidance.
The event is free to attend. Subsidies are available for residents and ratepayers: $130 off an advanced worm farm setup and $65 off 1kg of worms. Larger quantities of worms can be purchased, but the subsidy maxes out at $65. Booking is essential to secure your spot and subsidy eligibility.
