The event includes a practical demonstration on setting up and maintaining your own worm farm, making it easy to start your eco-friendly journey at home. It's an excellent opportunity for adults and young people over 14 to get hands-on experience and ask questions.
You'll also learn about the City of Swan's worm farm subsidies, helping you get started with discounted worm farms or worms to boost your garden's health.
The workshop runs for 1.5 hours on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. It is free to attend but requires booking, with one ticket per person. Please note that photographs and videos may be taken during the event.
Participants can purchase subsidized worm farms or worms on the day, with the City of Swan offering a $130 subsidy on an advanced worm farm setup and a $65 subsidy on 1kg of worms. Larger worm quantities can be purchased, but the maximum subsidy applies only to 1kg.
To claim the subsidy, pre-order your worm farm when you RSVP, attend the workshop with proof of residency or a rates notice, pay in cash, and collect your worm farm to take home.
The event takes place at the Ethel Warren Bullsbrook Community Centre, located at 3 Maroubra Avenue, Bullsbrook WA 6084, Australia. The venue is community-focused and accessible, making it convenient for families and individuals interested in sustainable gardening.
