Discover the historic first Treaty negotiated in 2025 between First Peoples in Victoria and the Victorian Government. This event offers a welcoming space for allies and First Peoples to learn about the Treaty’s goals to improve health, education, and justice.
You’ll gain insight into Gellung Warl, a new body established through the Treaty, meaning “tip of the spear” in Gunaikurnai. The talk encourages community involvement and understanding.
There will be time for open discussion and questions, plus an opportunity to pick up some Treaty merchandise.
The talk is scheduled for Wednesday, 29 July 2026, from 12:30 to 13:30. It is a community-run event held at the Ashburton Community Centre.
This session is designed to be inclusive and informative, welcoming both First Peoples and allies. It is an excellent opportunity for parents to engage with important cultural and social issues affecting their community.
