This engaging trail invites young explorers to discover how trees provide homes, food, and shelter for wildlife, help cool the environment with their leafy canopies, and play a crucial role in protecting and restoring natural landscapes. There are 10 special trees to find throughout the garden—can you spot them all?
Activity Details
Pick up a Tree Hugger Trail flyer from the welcome signs at the garden entrance. Follow the map or arrows to find the 10 magnificent trees. When you find each tree, match it to the correct number on the map or draw a line connecting it to its spot.
Discover three levels of huggable trees: full body hugs, hand hugs, and long distance hugs. This activity encourages children to get outside, get curious, and connect with nature in a fun and interactive way.
The trail is suitable for families and children, making it a perfect winter outing that combines education with outdoor fun.

The Tree Hugger Trail is located at Wollongong Botanic Garden, 40 Murphys Avenue, Keiraville. The garden is open daily from 7:00 to 17:00.
