Celebrate Mother’s Day in a meaningful way by planting a native tree in honour of your mum or a special mother figure. This free event invites Bayside residents to connect with nature and contribute to the local environment. It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to spend quality time outdoors while giving back to the community.
Alongside tree planting, enjoy a creative Upcycled Plant Pots activity where you can repurpose everyday items into charming plant containers. All soil and plants are provided, so bring along a suitable container and get ready to pot up something unique to take home.
The event is family-friendly and designed to be accessible for all ages, with Council staff available to guide and assist throughout the morning.
The event runs on Saturday, 2026-05-09, from 09:00 to 13:00. There are three registration sessions available: 9am-10am, 10am-11am, and 11am-12pm, allowing you to choose a time that suits your family’s schedule.
All planting equipment and commemorative tree tags will be provided free of charge. Participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor activity, including wearing closed-toe shoes, a hat, and sunscreen to stay comfortable and protected.
Please bring a container that can hold about one litre of soil for the Upcycled Plant Pots activity. Suitable items include watering cans, boots, colanders, baking dishes, or old buckets. Ensure your container has drainage holes as no tools will be available on site.
The event takes place at Sir Joseph Banks Park, located on Tupia Street in Botany, NSW 2019. The planting area is next to the Dog Park, making it easy to find.
