Discover how to foster your child's emotional intelligence with the Tuning in to Kids program. This engaging course helps you learn to recognize, understand, and manage emotions for both you and your child, equipping them to handle life's ups and downs with confidence.
You will gain practical skills in emotion coaching, communication that builds connection, and strategies to manage tricky moments and conflicts effectively. This program is designed for parents, primary carers, and family members of children aged 4-12 years.
While not disability-specific, the approach can be adapted to meet your child's unique needs, providing personalized support from experienced facilitators.
The program consists of seven weekly online sessions, each lasting two hours. Sessions run from Tuesday 10 February to Tuesday 24 March 2026, from 19:30 to 21:30 AEDT. Attendance at all sessions is required to gain the full benefit and receive a certificate of completion.
The course is delivered via Zoom, allowing you to join from anywhere in Australia. Instructions and access details will be emailed closer to the event date.
The facilitator, Melo Kalemkeridis, is a trained peer worker and parent with lived experience raising a child with a disability, ensuring empathetic and informed guidance throughout the program.
This is an online event hosted via Zoom, making it accessible from the comfort of your home. You can participate regardless of your location within Australia.
If you require accessibility support, please indicate this when registering so accommodations can be arranged.
Joining details and any necessary instructions will be sent by email prior to the first session, ensuring a smooth start to your learning experience.
Please RSVP to secure your place as the course requires a minimum of four families to run. Only one ticket per family is needed if joining from the same screen.
Participants are encouraged to keep their cameras on during sessions to confirm attendance and engagement, which is necessary for receiving the certificate of completion.
If the course is full, you can express interest for future sessions and be contacted when new dates are scheduled.
This program is offered free of charge, funded through the NSW Department of Education Start Strong Pathways program.
Booking is essential to secure your spot, and places are limited to ensure personalized support.
