This engaging course is designed for parents, primary carers, and family members of children aged 4-12 years who want to foster emotional intelligence in their children. You will learn practical skills in emotion coaching, helping your child recognize, understand, and manage their emotions effectively.
Throughout the program, you will discover how to tune in to your child's emotional experience, communicate in ways that build connection, and use new strategies to handle tricky moments and conflicts. This supportive environment encourages families to develop stronger emotional bonds and resilience.
Whether your child has specific needs or not, this program offers valuable tools to support their emotional growth and equip them to handle life's ups and downs with confidence.
The course runs weekly online over seven sessions, each lasting two hours. Attendance at all sessions is required to gain the full benefit of the program and to receive a certificate of completion.
Sessions start on Tuesday 12 May 2026 and conclude on Tuesday 23 June 2026, held from 19:30 to 21:30 AEDT. The course is delivered via Zoom, allowing you to join from anywhere in Australia.
To participate, families need to RSVP as places are limited and sessions will only run with a minimum of four families confirmed. The program is free of charge, funded through the NSW Department of Education Start Strong Pathways program.
This is a fully online course conducted through Zoom, making it accessible from the comfort of your home. Instructions and the Zoom link will be emailed to participants closer to the event start date.
If you require any accessibility support, you are encouraged to notify the organisers when registering to ensure your needs are met.
This flexible online format is ideal for busy families seeking quality parenting support without the need to travel.
The program is facilitated by Melo Kalemkeridis, a trained peer worker and parent with lived experience raising a child with a disability, providing a relatable and supportive learning environment.
To maintain engagement and provide certificates, participants are kindly asked to keep their cameras on during sessions.
Please note that professionals cannot participate in this program at this time; it is designed specifically for families.
Families are encouraged to enrol in one course per term to allow personalised support and focus on individual family goals.
Participation in this valuable parenting program is completely free. However, you must RSVP to secure your place as spots are limited.
