Step into a lively and educational session designed especially for children under five. This event celebrates the spirit of footy through the beautiful Hermannsburg pots created by Arrernte artists. Your little ones will enjoy storytime, learn about Indigenous culture, and get inspired to create their own artwork.
This interactive experience is perfect for parents looking to introduce their children to Aboriginal art and culture in a fun, age-appropriate way. The session encourages creativity and cultural understanding through storytelling and drawing activities.
Join other families in a welcoming online environment where children can engage with art and sport, fostering early learning and appreciation for First Nations perspectives.
The session runs for 30 minutes, from 10:30 to 11:00 am, featuring a mix of storytelling and hands-on drawing activities. It highlights the Hermannsburg Potters, Indigenous artists who celebrate AFL’s best Indigenous players through terracotta pots.
Children will hear stories written by First Nations authors and are encouraged to express their ideas by drawing their own pots either at home or in the classroom.
