Immerse yourself in nature and make a real difference by joining the Yeronga Bushcare Group. This event is perfect for families looking to spend quality time outdoors while contributing to the environment. You'll be part of a friendly community dedicated to restoring native vegetation along the Brisbane River.
Expect hands-on activities such as planting, weeding, and general bushcare tasks. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about local ecosystems and the importance of conservation.
No prior experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
The working bee will take place on Sunday, 8 November 2026, from 15:00 to 17:00. Activities will focus on regenerating native plants at two alternating sites on the riverbank in Yeronga.
Locations include:
- Just upstream from the Anita Street/Esplanade intersection
- Corso Park at the intersection of Brisbane Corso & Otaki Rd
Please note that times may vary depending on the season, so it's a good idea to check ahead.
The event is held in Yeronga, along the banks of the Brisbane River. Both sites are accessible and offer a beautiful natural setting for families to enjoy.
Public transport options are available to Yeronga, and there is limited parking near the sites. Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended.
This is a free event suitable for all ages, making it an ideal weekend activity for parents and children alike.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, water bottles, and sun protection. Tools and guidance will be provided on site.
