Discover practical ways to transform your garden into a welcoming habitat for native birds. Whether you have a large yard, small courtyard, or balcony, this workshop will guide you in supporting local wildlife by choosing suitable plants and understanding bird behaviors.
You will learn about local endemic bird species, their needs, and how gardens connect to the wider ecosystem. The session includes insights on feeding habits, nesting, shelter, and protecting birds from common threats.
Hannah from Budding Concepts will share expert knowledge on native plants and practical verge design ideas. City of Cockburn residents will receive a native seedling to start their garden.
This workshop is co-funded by the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Council Program and co-hosted with the Yangebup Progress Association. It is designed for participants aged 16 and over.
The event runs from 13:00 to 15:30 on Saturday, 19 September 2026. Light refreshments will be served during the workshop.
Ticket options include a standard ticket at $7.70, a Pay What You Can option for concession holders, students, and those experiencing financial hardship, and a Pay It Forward option to support community accessibility.
The workshop will be held at the Yangebup Community Centre, located at 20 Swallow Drive, Yangebup, WA 6164.
Facilities include free parking, public toilets, a water refill station, accessible toilets, and ACROD parking.
