Discover how even the smallest outdoor spaces can become vibrant, green sanctuaries that support local wildlife and fit your lifestyle. This workshop offers practical advice on designing and planting compact gardens with sustainability in mind.
You will explore clever design principles, multifunctional garden features, and how to choose plants suited for limited spaces. The session also covers vertical and container gardening, creating privacy, and encouraging native pollinators.
Led by Hannah from Budding Concepts, this workshop shares expert tips on native plants and verge design, helping you create a thriving, low-maintenance garden.
The workshop runs from 13:00 to 15:30 on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at the Atwell Community Centre. It is free to attend and suitable for anyone aged 16 and over.
Participants will receive a native seedling to start their garden and enjoy light refreshments during the session. The event is co-funded by the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Council Program and co-hosted with the Atwell Community Association.
This is a perfect opportunity for City of Cockburn residents to gain hands-on knowledge about sustainable gardening and waterwise practices.
Held at Atwell Community Centre, located at 9 Lombe Gardens, Atwell, WA 6164, the venue offers free parking, accessible toilets, and accessible parking (ACROD).
Additional features include a bicycle parking rack, public toilets, a water refill station, and first-aid facilities. The map provided includes voice and accessible color options for ease of navigation.
The centre is welcoming and equipped to accommodate visitors with accessibility needs.
This workshop is designed for adults aged 16 and over, making it ideal for parents interested in sustainable gardening for their homes.
Light refreshments will be served, and attendees should be prepared for an interactive session focused on practical gardening skills.
