What to Expect

Enjoy a scenic 4km walk from Cape Solander lookout to Tabbagai Point and back, where you can spot humpback whales, dolphins, and Australian fur seals. The coastal heath is alive with colorful native wildflowers, perfect for photography enthusiasts. Bird watchers will delight in sightings of sea eagles, kites, and cockatoos. Bring binoculars and a camera to capture these natural wonders.

Activity Details

The tour runs from 09:00 to 11:00 with a meeting time of 08:45 at the whale watching platform. It is a medium-grade walk suitable for adults and children aged 5 and above, with children requiring close supervision due to cliff proximity. The trail covers 4km through diverse coastal scenery. No wheelchair access is available.

Location and Access

The walk takes place at Cape Solander in the Kurnell area of Kamay Botany Bay National Park. Park entry fees apply ($8 per vehicle per day). The meeting point is the whale watching platform at Cape Solander. Visitors should prepare for no amenities on site and bring sunscreen, water, snacks, sturdy shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Important Information

Children must be supervised closely due to the trail's proximity to cliffs. The walk is not wheelchair accessible and is graded medium difficulty. Weather conditions may affect park access, so check alerts before attending. The park operates pay and display parking with coin and card payment options.
