Step into the great outdoors for an afternoon filled with fun, hands-on games and beginner bushcraft skills designed especially for children aged 8 to 12. This session encourages kids to connect deeply with nature, sparking curiosity and confidence through interactive activities.
Children will explore how to identify and gather natural materials traditionally used for fire preparation and enjoy making damper without lighting a fire. The experience is relaxed and supportive, led by experienced facilitators who inspire a lasting appreciation for the environment.
This is a perfect opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together while fostering a love of the outdoors in a safe and educational setting.
The session runs for two hours, starting at 13:00 and concluding at 15:00. It is designed to be accessible and engaging for children between the ages of 8 and 12, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Activities include nature-based games and practical bushcraft skills that build environmental awareness and wilderness survival basics. The program emphasizes hands-on learning and encourages children to develop confidence and curiosity.

The event takes place at the Wollongong Botanic Garden Education Centre, located at 29 Madoline Street, Keiraville. The closest carpark and entrance are conveniently situated near the Education Centre.
