Expect to engage in creative exercises that detox digital distractions and unlock your original thinking. You will be supported by acclaimed author Melaina Faranda, who will provide both group and individual coaching.
By the end of the retreat, you will have increased your word count, gained practical writing and self-editing tools, and developed a personalized plan to complete your story or book.
Activity Details
This retreat is suitable for writers of all experience levels, from those with just an idea to those with a partly completed project. You will explore techniques to manage your inner critic, overcome procrastination, and self-edit effectively to bring your work closer to publication standard.
The program includes a variety of creative writing exercises inspired by the natural environment of Woonoongoora - Lamington National Park. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow writers and share their creative journeys.
Please bring your preferred writing materials, including a notebook suitable for outdoor writing sessions.

The retreat takes place at Binna Burra Lodge, located at 1040 Binna Burra Rd, Binna Burra QLD 4211. Nestled within a world heritage rainforest, the location offers a peaceful and inspiring backdrop for your writing.
Accommodation and catering options are available on-site, with a special 10% discount on bookings for retreat participants staying a minimum of two nights between 22–25 February 2026.
