Discover the rewarding experience of helping to restore the beautiful bushland above Coogee Beach and Wylie's Baths. This community bushcare group focuses on removing invasive weeds and replanting indigenous species to preserve the natural environment.
Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome, making it a perfect activity for parents and children who love the outdoors and want to make a positive environmental impact.
Enjoy the fresh sea air and scenic views while contributing to a greener, healthier local ecosystem.
Sessions are held every month on the third Tuesday, from 09:00 to 12:00, continuing until 15 December 2026. The group has successfully revegetated large areas and continues to work around the outskirts of the playing fields.
Volunteers will engage in practical activities such as weed removal and planting native species, guided by experienced Bushcare Officers.
No prior experience is necessary, and all tools and materials are provided.
Meet near the Council ute parked opposite the BBQ area at the entrance to Wylie's Baths, a picturesque spot above Coogee Beach.
The location is easily accessible by public transport and offers parking nearby.
This outdoor setting provides a safe and engaging environment for families to connect with nature.
Please wear sturdy shoes, sun protection, and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Bookings are recommended to ensure adequate resources and support during the session.
Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
Participation is free, but booking is essential.
