Activity Details
Discover the grounding, creative rhythm of weaving with options for short-stay or deep-dive sessions. Create your own twined or starter-stitch bracelet in 15–20 minutes or learn foundational weaving techniques to start a woven basket or scoop piece.
Unwind with mindfulness drawing activities that explore cultural symbolism and Aboriginal art meanings through gentle, creative expression.
All activities are guided by facilitators who introduce weaving protocols to ensure respect and understanding of the cultural practice.
Location and Access
The event takes place at Yarra Community Centre, located at 8-10 Uhrig Road, Lidcombe, NSW 2141. The centre is accessible and welcoming to all ages.
Yarra Community Centre is situated on the lands and waters of the Burramattagal of the Dharug nation, a place of ceremony, story, and tradition.
Participants are encouraged to respect the cultural significance of the location and the traditions honoured there.
Important Information
No registration or booking is required to attend this event. It is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The program pays respects to the Dharug Ancestors and Elders, past, present, and emerging, and extends respect to all First Nations people joining the program.
