This engaging course is designed to enhance the driving skills of young drivers, whether you are on your learner's permit or probationary license. It focuses on defensive driving techniques that can save lives, including your own and those of your friends. Experienced instructors from the Australian Driving Institute will guide you through both theory and practical exercises.
You will learn essential skills such as braking and steering techniques, maintaining a safe following distance, and how to handle distractions, peer pressure, and fatigue. The course also covers accident avoidance strategies and other critical driving knowledge often not taught in standard lessons.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young drivers to build confidence and improve their driving decisions in a supportive environment.
The course runs on 30th September 2026 from 08:30 to 16:45. It is subsidised by the Adelaide Hills Council to a cost of $50 per person. Participants must bring their own vehicle and learners must be accompanied by a supervising driver. Probationary drivers do not need a supervisor but should book accordingly.
Lunch is provided by Lobethal Bakery with vegetarian and meat options available. Light refreshments will be served during breaks, including gluten-free biscuits, though lunch does not have a gluten-free option. A fridge and microwave are available for use.
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to ensure a timely start. Note that refunds are only available up to 7 days before the event unless a waitlist replacement is found.

When booking, you must provide copies of all drivers' licenses, including the supervisor's license (front and back), to complete the ticket purchase. Learners must be accompanied by a supervising driver for the practical parts of the course.
