Youth Crafternoons offer a wonderful opportunity for young creatives to unwind and express themselves through various hands-on activities. Whether your child loves cutting, pasting, shaping, or moulding, these sessions provide a welcoming space to explore different artistic mediums. From zine-making and collaging to cyanotyping, pottery, and print-making, there’s something to spark every young artist’s imagination.
These sessions are designed for youth aged 12 to 18 and encourage bringing personal projects or trying new crafts. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for making new friends and developing creative skills in a supportive environment.
Held on the second Wednesday of every month, these one-hour sessions run from 16:00 to 17:00 at the Albert Park Library. The program is free, and registration is recommended to ensure there are enough supplies and snacks for everyone.
Participants can expect unlimited snacks and drinks, making it a fun and social after-school activity. The sessions are wheelchair accessible and inclusive, with support available for any additional needs upon request.
The event takes place at Albert Park Library, located within the City of Port Phillip. The library offers a welcoming and accessible environment, with facilities to accommodate all participants comfortably.
For those unfamiliar with the area, the library is easily reachable by public transport and has provisions for parking nearby. Parents can feel confident their children are in a safe and supportive community space.
Registration is essential to attend, as it helps the organizers prepare enough materials and snacks. The sessions are free of charge, making them accessible to all interested youth.
If your child has any specific accessibility requirements or needs assistance, the library staff encourages you to get in touch ahead of time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
The library acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land, the people of the Kulin Nations, and respects their continuing connection to this land.
Youth Crafternoons are free to attend but require prior registration. You can register online through the Port Phillip Library Service website to secure a spot.
There are no hidden costs, and all materials and snacks are provided at no charge. This makes it an ideal creative outlet for families looking for affordable and enriching after-school activities.
